Milan’s Next Home Shirt Has Been Leaked

Images are circulating on social media (thanks to @m21original on Twitter) of what appears to be Milan’s home shirt for the 2023/24 campaign, months ahead of its release. For what will be the third season in a row, Puma have decided to get creative with the stripes. This new look succeeds in being different from what came before it, with staggered horizontal lines and varied application of red and black used to create a v pattern running down the center. Most of the back is plain red, which may not be a popular choice among fans.

Leaks of upcoming football shirts can sometimes turn out to be fakes, but this jersey seems to be legit. Similar photos of Manchester City’s next kits (another big Puma club) are also doing the rounds and they bear some similarities in terms of aesthetic, so it looks like someone has gotten their hands on some samples of the final designs from the German brand.

Our Verdict on Milan’s 2023/24 Home Shirt

Certainly not the most traditional way to do a striped kit, but it’s an improvement on this season’s “disrupted” design. Overall it’s a pretty solid shirt, though it does lose a few points for the plain back. Brands have been coming up with lots of – often terrible – alternative takes on stripes over the last five years or so, and this one is comfortably near the top of that pile.
