Nikola Milenkovic could have departed Fiorentina in each of the last two summer windows, but Vincenzo Italiano convinced him to stay, and he agreed to a multi-year contract last August. The defender stated that he fully planned to respect it in his post-game remarks to DAZN after facing Atalanta (via Fantacalcio).
“I don’t want to answer questions about the future right now. We are in a very important stretch of the season for the team. Everything will be at stake in the next few games. I inked a five-year contract, and I’m only focused on Fiorentina at the moment.”
Milenkovic dished on the draw with Atalanta.
“We had a very good performance, as it’s always tough to face them. There were a ton of duels, as we defend in similar fashion. We answered the bell. It’s not easy to contain them since they have a menacing frontline, but we were capable. Our regret is that they scored on their only chance.”
