Milenkovic Might Not Flee Fiorentina Despite a Few Inquiries

Nikola Milenkovic has routinely been on the radar to multiple big teams, but he might wind up re-upping with Fiorentina. The center-back has recently been mentioned as a secondary target for Juventus, Milan and Inter. He has also drawn interest from the Premier League.

The 24-year-old is under contract with the Viola only until 2023. However, he was in the same position last summer. He eventually signed a new short-term extension. According to Calciomercato.com, the Serbian international immediately hit it off with new coach Vincenzo Italiano, who talked him into staying. The same thing could easily happen again in a few months.

The relationship between Milenkovic and Fiorentina is very solid. The parties will decide the future together, La Nazione informs. He would most likely remain if they managed to qualify for an European competition. They are currently in eighth position. They have one game in hand and are two points below Lazio and four behind Roma and Atalanta.

Otherwise, the club and the player will evaluate the potential offers. Milenkovic would be looking to have a major role in a top club if he departed Fiorentina. However, it is far from a certainty it will indeed happen, Enzo Bucchioni reports.

Milan, Inter and Juventus seem to be prioritizing different targets for their rearguards. West Ham and Tottenham seriously pursued him last summer. The Irons, in particular, came pretty close to acquiring him, but the deal fell through late. He has been playing for the Gigliati since 2017 and has accumulated 163 appearances and 14 goals.
