Nikola Milenkovic is back to fitness, thus making him available ahead of Fiorentina’s battle with joint leaders Atalanta on Sunday. The Serbian missed the last four games, due to a muscle injury picked up in the 1-1 draw with Juventus earlier this month.
In the four games in which Milenkovic was absent, la Viola let in six goals. They did, however, win their most recent fixture, keeping a clean sheet. In the five and a half matches in which the Serbian center back played this season, the Tuscans conceded just four times.
Milenkovic signed a new contract with the club in August. That ties him to the Stadio Artemio Franchi until the summer of 2027. This is the 24-year-old’s sixth season with the side since his move from Partizan Belgrade in 2017. He has scored 17 goals in his first five seasons in Italy.
Milenkovic will be happy that he managed to recover before the World Cup. A regular fixture with his national team, Serbia will face Brazil, Switzerland and Cameroon in Qatar.
