Sergej Milinkovic-Savic hasn’t played great in the last couple of weeks, drawing scrutiny considering his uncertain future. His agent Mateja Kezman replied to Corriere dello Sport (via Virgilio).
“Some people use words that are too strong to discuss him and his form. They are enemies of Lazio. It’s a shame. They try to create problems inside the squad and make it weaker. It’s true that he’s not having his best stretch. However, he never performed below his level in eight years.”
“It happens to have one bad week. After all, he’s just a man, and there are ups and downs in life. He’s working the best he can to recapture the best shape and ‘die’ for his team in these last four matches. He’s eager to help the club achieve the fantastic result of qualifying for the Champions League.”
Kezman further defended Milinkovic-Savic and was mum about what would happen in the summer.
“Nobody has the right to judge his attitude and loyalty and doubt his love for Lazio, which he proved every single day throughout all recent years. He’s a soldier, the Sergeant. It’s not nice to him and to me to constantly hear fibs about his contract and future. We have talked with president Claudio Lotito multiple times. We agreed that we would take stock at the end of the season.”
According to Il Messaggero (via SportMediaset), Juventus continue to be the most interested team in Milinkovic-Savic. However, their offer, around €25M, falls well short of the Biancocelesti’s requests. The two outfits will eventually discuss some makeweights, for instance, Luca Pellegrini or Nicolò Rovella, if the Serb relays that he wants to move to Turin.
