Miralem Pjanic’s Return to Juventus Depends on One Player

Aaron Ramsey’s unpreparedness to leave Juventus for a less attractive destination has thrown Miralem Pjanic’s return into a corridor of doubt. According to Tuttosport via (ilBianconero), the Bosnian’s prospect of joining the Turin outfit back from Barcelona hinge entirely on the Welshman’s future.

Pjanic exited Juventus to link up with Barcelona last summer in a coordinated swap deal that saw Arthur Melo move in the opposite direction.

However, the playmaker’s early experience at Camp Nou has been nothing short of disappointing. Cast out by manager Ronald Koeman, the 31-year-old barely featured for the Catalan side last season, finding himself at the bottom of the pecking order.

After turning from one of Europe’s finest creative midfielders into one of the biggest flops in Barcelona’s recent history, Pjanic is desperate to return to Serie A. Despite Barca’s willingness to let him re-join Juventus on bargain terms, the reunion depends on another factor.

With Juventus on the brink of finalizing Manuel Locatelli’s arrival from Sassuolo, the record-time Serie A champions need to make room for another midfielder. Although the Bianconeri want to dispatch Ramsey to open the door for Pjanic, the Wales international is not overly excited about the possibility of cutting short his underwhelming spell in Turin.

Ramsey has been a peripheral figure since arriving on a free transfer two years ago. However, the 30-year-old is one of the club’s highest earners and sees no point in leaving Juventus for a low-profile move.

The only way for Ramsey to leave Turin is to join another top club, which at this point looks far-fetched. The Welshman’s dismal form at Juventus has contributed to a lack of suitors. Nonetheless, he has no intent on departing the Allianz Arena for a less glamorous destination.
