Monaco Rivaling Atalanta to Capture Torino Starlet

Atalanta are facing strong competition in the race to sign Wilfried Singo from Torino, as Monaco lodged a substantial bid to lure him to Ligue 1. The wingback is set to depart the Granata in the final weeks of the transfer market window, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

La Dea arranged a swap with Brandon Soppy as a partial makeweight, plus €7M. However, the youngster isn’t so keen on the move. He’d prefer to transfer abroad since he hasn’t broken through in Serie A and wouldn’t be guaranteed to be a regular starter under Ivan Juric.

Monaco offered as much as Atalanta for Singo, but cash only, as they put €15M on the table. The Ivorian international has a year on his contract. An extension isn’t on the horizon. He has racked up 108 appearances with the Granata since 2019.

Torino wish to complete his sale sooner rather than later to bring in another wingback on top of Raoul Bellanova. They gathered intel on Feyenoord’s Marcus Pedersen, who’s on the radar of other Italian sides as well.

Our Take on Singo, Atalanta, and Monaco

Including Soppy in the package would be ideal, but the Bergamaschi should proceed anyway. They surely aren’t short on funds. They need another man on the flanks after selling Joakim Maehle to Wolfsburg. Davide Zappacosta’s versatility allows them to pick which one to bolster freely.
