Monza and Stefano Sensi are reportedly in talks over a summer reunion after the midfielder’s contract at Inter ran out at the end of June. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, former Milan CEO Adriano Galliani, now at the helm of the Biancorossi, had a dinner with the versatile Italian star on Thursday evening.
Inter decided to cut Sensi loose at the end of last season after recurring injury problems derailed his career at Giuseppe Meazza. Letting the ex-Sassuolo playmaker leave made sense, considering he only amassed four Serie A appearances last season. However, Monza are ready to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Sensi is no stranger to the Brianteo Stadium. Inter loaned him out to Monza in 2022/23 in a last-ditch attempt to reignite his faltering career. The 28-year-old, who will turn 29 next month, fared reasonably well under former Biancorossi manager Raffaele Palladino, mustering three goals and two assists in 28 league outings.
Galliani has seemingly not forgotten Sensi’s showings at Monza and is working to bring him back to the fold. While signing Sensi would be a decent coup for the Lombard club, new boss Alessandro Nesta could lose a significant first-team piece to Palladino’s new employers, Fiorentina.
Andrea Colpani could leave Monza to reunite with Palladino in Tuscany, with talks between the clubs ongoing. The 25-year-old winger featured in all 38 Serie A matches last season, racking up eight goals and four assists. He could be another major reinforcement for Fiorentina following Moise Kean’s arrival from Juventus.
