Monza Keen on Landing Inter Outcast Stefano Sensi

Injury-prone midfielder Stefano Sensi has fallen out of Inter project for the future and could be on the move in the coming months. As per Calciomercato, the Italian star is no longer part of Simone Inzaghi’s vision for the Nerazzurri.

Sensi joined Inter from Sassuolo in the summer of 2019. After an impressive season-long loan at Giuseppe Meazza, he signed a permanent deal the following year. However, everything has gone sideways since then.

Recurring injury problems have restricted Sensi to a measly 52 appearances for Inter in three years. He even spent the second half of last season on loan at Sampdoria to get back into shape. Unfortunately, he struggled to live up to the billing.

After La Samp declined to commit to a permanent move, Sensi is coming home. But only to move on as it stands. Inter are keen on selling the 26-year-old in the summer to balance the books. They paid Sassuolo €25m to sign him in 2020.

Two years on, Inter are unlikely to recoup their investment. Given Sensi’s sparse game time, his price has significantly dropped. Aware of that, the Nerazzurri are also open to letting him leave on another loan.

Newly-promoted Monza have now emerged as the midfielder’s potential landing spot. Led by former Milan chiefs Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani, the Biancorossi have high ambitions in the summer transfer window.

After earning promotion to Serie A for the first time in the club’s history, the famous duo knows what it takes to keep Monza in the top flight. As such, they are ready to make Sensi their marquee summer signing.

During his time at Milan, Galliani showed his capacity to pull off high-profile signings without making substantial financial sacrifices. Any deal that would take Sensi to Monza will require a touch of Galliani’s magic stick.

Who would dare to question Galliani’s ability to convince Inter to hand them the Italian playmaker on favourable terms?
