Morata Not Sure to Join Barcelona Despite Vlahovic Arrival

Juventus are poised to sign Dusan Vlahovic, but it is not a foregone conclusion that Alvaro Morata will transfer Barcelona. The Spanish striker is angling for the move, but some technical aspects are slowing it down, Tuttosport reports.

Considering the restrictions imposed by La Liga, the Blaugrana need to shed a big salary to accommodate the addition. The main candidate to depart is Ousmane Dembélé, but there might not be enough time to complete the domino. The French attacker has gone back and forth on his extension.

Moreover, Atletico Madrid are not too keen on strengthening a direct rival, SportMediaset informs. The Colchoneros might not let Morata join Barcelona at the same favorable conditions set for the Bianconeri. The forward visited with his agent in Madrid yesterday, Sky Sport reports. His representative was non-committal about the potential deal in a brief remark to the press. Juventus, and coach Massimiliano Allegri in particular, would not mind keeping him for the next six months.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Barcelona might sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang instead of Morata. Arsenal are more willing to contribute to his wages, which would remove an obstacle. The Catalans will try to open up enough room in their payroll for a striker through sales of fringe contributors.

If Morata ended up staying, the Old Lady would likely send Kaio Jorge out on loan. Cagliari and Salernitana are interested in adding him in. He could be part of the deal that would see Nahitan Nandez transfer to Turin, Corriere dello Sport relays.
