Morata Uncertainty Fuels Kean Odds to Stay at Juventus

Juventus will have to make their call on Alvaro Morata and Moise Kean shortly. Both strikers are on loan, and their options to buy amount to €60M combined. The Bianconeri do not intend to spend that much. However, they realize that replacing them both would likely turn out to be more expensive, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Old Lady will try to re-negotiate both fees, but it will not be easy. They would have to pay €35M for the Spanish striker after spending €20M for a two-year loan. They are willing to put €15-20M on the table. On the other hand, Atletico Madrid have already received richer offers, Calciomercato informs. They will sell him to the highest bidders. The striker would have to reject the other proposals to facilitate his permanence.

Unlike Morata, Juventus have Kean under control for another year, as per the previous agreement with Everton. They disbursed €7M last summer and would need to add €28M, plus €3M add-ons, to redeem him in 2023. Their option to buy would reportedly be automatically triggered by easy conditions next season. If they wanted to offload him, they have to find a solution in the upcoming window, and the Toffees must sign off on it.

At this stage, Kean has better chances of staying at Juventus than Morata. Pavel Nedved spoke about the young forward to DAZN before the Genoa game: “I think we can easily ask him to score 25 goals per season. He was born in 2000 and has high potential. He is productive when he plays close to the box. He is making some technical mistakes, but we request him to do a lot. We expect all the strikers to be more prolific next year. We have been lacking in such area in 2021-2022.”
