Galatasaray formally announced the acquisition of Victor Osimhen on Wednesday, stating he’d make €6M in the ongoing season. There’s a significant gap relative to his Napoli salary. The Azzurri have taken care of the two monthly wages while he was still with them and won’t contribute further, La Repubblica informs. The rest will be covered by image rights and sponsorship deals.
The Partenopei officially confirmed to have obtained an option to extend his contract until 2027. His new €75M release clause will be valid from next June and can’t be activated by Italian sides, Corriere dello Sport relays.
Intermediary George Gardi revealed how the Osimhen transfer came together to Tuttomercatoweb.
“It was born on Friday night after the deadline in Europe. I noticed he didn’t leave and that there was this peculiar situation with Napoli. I asked them whether he could go out on loan. They were open to that, and I immediately contacted the Turkish club, saying it was a can’t-miss opportunity that needed to be seized quickly.”
Galatasaray were in a hurry due to the UEFA list.
“They had to seal the deal in 48 hours. They immediately and enthusiastically gave their thumbs-up. We spoke with Victor, who accepted because he considered them an important club. It was an honor for him to play for them. We also spoke with the coach Okan Buruk, who explained his tactical ideas, which further convinced the player.”
The Osimhen switch went through without a hitch in the end.
