Most Milan Loanees Heading Back After Subpar Spells

Milan are waiting for Atalanta’s decision on Charles De Ketelaere, as La Dea opened talks to obtain a discount. All the other players who left temporarily last summer will report back. The list includes Alexis Saelemaekers, even though he had a solid season at Bologna, Mediaset informed.

The Rossoneri believe they’ll be able to sell the Belgian attacker at a higher sum if the Bergamaschi don’t activate their €22M option to buy. Therefore, they are unwilling to negotiate. Instead, the Felsinei elected not to pay €10M to keep the winger.

Milan will have to find new homes also for Divock Origi, Lorenzo Colombo, Daniel Maldini, Marco Pellegrino, and Fodé Ballo-Touré. New coach Paulo Fonseca will contribute to deciding whether to keep the son of the club legend and Saelemaekers in the squad.

According to TuttoSport (via Calciomercato), Juventus could attempt to reunite the 24-year-old with Thiago Motta. He has posted 4 goals and 3 assists in 32 matches in the past campaign. He starred in a plethora of roles. His €2M wages were a little high for Bologna but wouldn’t be a problem for the Old Lady.

Our Take on the Milan Loanees

It’d be a stunner if Atalanta didn’t keep De Ketelaere. It’s just an attempt to save some bucks, which will probably fall on deaf ears. The Rossoneri could use a backup winger in a grueling season, but Saelemaekers has probably worn out his welcome in San Siro. Maldini might have better chances, but he could use regular playing time elsewhere.
