Although José Mourinho was absent from the Giallorossi dugout as the visitors went down at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to Inter, he nonetheless made the headlines after the clash with yet another post-match comment. Approximately 30,000 whistles were distributed before the game amongst the Nerazzurri fans to target Romelu Lukaku whenever he touched the ball, and Mourinho asked some for himself.

Mourinho fired sarcastic shots at his former club, as per Corriere della Sera (viaVoceGiallorossa).
“Do you have any whistles you can lend me? It could be useful to me.”
Mourinho believes a draw would have been an apt result, even though Roma were largely dominated by the Nerazzurri throughout the game.
“With all the tiredness accumulated, little time to prepare for the match, I think the boys played an important match. I think the feeling of everyone, not just mine, was that the match would end in a draw. The team was calm with all the difficulties.”
Mourinho then aimed his comments at referee Fabio Maresca, demanding more respect for his players (via Calciomercato)
“I’m sorry that there is no respect for the players, Maresca’s attitude towards Gianluca Mancini and Evan N’Dicka proves it all. I’m happy for the team, although we didn’t have half the team available – Leonardo Spinazzola, Paulo Dybala, Chris Smalling, Renato Sanches, Lorenzo Pellegrini, coming here with half the team, the boys are were good. I’m sad because we deserved more.”
