Mourinho Names Roma Priorities in the Transfer Market

José Mourinho wishes for the front office to bolster the Roma squad at all levels in the next transfer market window. The Giallorossi are poised for another busy summer. Although, it is unclear whether the Friedkin family will spend as much as last year.

La Lupa is in the race for Paulo Dybala, although it is not the frontrunner. On top of a forward, especially if they sold Nicolò Zaniolo, the gaffer wants to add a right wing-back, a midfield maestro, and a left-footed center-back, Corriere dello Sport informs.

Roma will send Ainsley Maitland-Niles back to Arsenal and sign a different backup for Rick Karsdorp on the transfer market. They will make another attempt for Diogo Dalot. They have also been linked to his teammate Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The other options are RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Henrichs and RB Salzburg’s Rasmus Kristensen.

Mourinho heaped praise on Nemanja Matic in a recent interview. However, the front office is not as high on the Serbian midfielder, primarily because of his rich wages. They like Sassuolo’s Maxime Lopez, who will be in high demand. Instead, they have set their sights on Feyenoord’s Marcos Senesi to shore up the defense.

As for the attack, Bodo/Glimt’s Ola Solbakken is the cheapest target. They are also after Valencia’s Gonçalo Guedes and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic. They would be significantly more pricey, so they likely would be attainable targets only if they cashed in on Zaniolo. Moreover, Roma plan to bankroll their next transfer market campaign by partying ways with several fringe players.
