Roma pulled off a stunning stoppage-time comeback just as Lecce thought they were going to steal three points off the Giallorossi at the Stadio Olimpico. Late goals from Serdar Azmoun and Romelu Lukaku changed the game, and José Mourinho is wary it will take more effort from his side to register a positive victory in next week’s Derby della Capitale against Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, the Special One picked upon the fact that Lazio have an extra day of rest, given their UEFA Champions League group stage encounter against Feyenoord on Tuesday, two days earlier than Roma’s visit to Slavia Praha in the Europa League.
“I expect the usual Lazio, a team with a lot of experience, and that knows how to manage the match. I would be an idiot to criticize the league this time, although Lazio will have a 48-hour advantage because they play on Tuesday and we play on Thursday, but I am at peace with the league this time.”
