José Mourinho is at risk of missing the affair with ex-club Inter on Saturday after he launched a tirade against referee Daniele Chiffi in the 1-1 draw against Monza. An eventful first half was followed by a goalless second period that culminated with Zeki Celik receiving a second yellow and marching orders – an incident that seemed to have pulled the tactician’s strings.
The Special One didn’t hold himself back from the microphones, as he criticized Chiffi for his officiating throughout the match. Federal prosecutor Giuseppe Chinè has reportedly opened an investigation into the Giallorossi manager’s actions during and after the clash. Roma are also expected to be deferred for strict liability due to his comments (via Calciomercato).
However, Mourinho, in his own words, was armed with a microphone that recorded everything that went down at Stadio Brianteo.

Mourinho was suspended earlier in March for a similar incident against Cremonese, although the one against Chiffi didn’t blow up at the end. The clash against Inter arrives at a crucial time, as the Giallorossi seek to grab a top-four spot in a bid to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Apart from runaway champions Napoli, there are six clubs in the running for five European positions, and Roma unwilfully sit in 7th place – out of the European spectrum at the moment.
