Mourinho to Get His Wish on Goal, Roma Freeze Out Eight Players

Roma have raised their bid for Rui Patricio and are optimistic they will indeed purchase him shortly. The 33-year-old Portuguese international has always been José Mourinho’s top choice as he wanted experience. The Giallorossi have offered €11M to Wolverhampton and could close the deal next week, Fabrizio Romano reported.

The previous starter Pau Lopez has officially joined Olympique Marseille. He moved on an initial €500k loan with a €12M conditioned obligation to buy. He will automatically transfer permanently once he makes his 20th appearance with the French club.

Roma have issued the call-ups for the pre-season camp, with few high-profile exclusion. Pedro, Justin Kluivert, Federico Fazio, Davide Santon, Javier Pastore, Steven Nzonzi, Ante Coric and William Bianda did not make the cut. They are not part of the new course and will have to look for a new team. Niccolò Zaniolo is present as he has completed his rehab.

Pedro joined last season on a free transfer from Chelsea. He started well, but his playing time progressively decreased over time. The others were either fringe players or on loan to other sides. Alessandro Florenzi and Robin Olsen may be on the same boat, but they played in the Euro, which delayed the decision, Corriere dello Sport reports.

Roma are eying two more options to replace Leonardo Spinazzola: Ezgjan Alioski and Patrick van Aanholt, who are currently free agents, Il Tempo informs. However, the management is not in advanced talks for any of the rumored candidates, Gianluca Di Marzio pointed out.
