Mourinho Underlines Importance of Upcoming ECL Final

One week before Roma face Feyenoord, José Mourinho discussed the European Conference League final: “The story and prestige of competitions may vary, but they are all meaningful. It is the most important one to me because the others have already been played and we want to win it. We strongly desired to reach it.”

The Special One talked to Sky: “It will be our 15th international tilt of the season. We have traveled a lot, including some difficult and distant away matches. We paid the price for them in Serie A at times. Playing every three days caused us to drop points. When I see our table, I think about the mistakes by the referees, and the Thursday fixtures. It was tough, but it would look better if we won the cup. We always took it game by game without looking ahead. It is time to give everything we have to bring it home.”

Mourinho claims that Feyenoord have an advantage since they have more time to prepare for the final: “We will have a key contest versus Torino Friday, and we are coming off a tough one with Venezia. They finished early and went to Portugal to better focus on it. It is a small edge. When you arrive at this point, you have to forget all these issues and concentrate on the fact that it is a single-elimination game that everybody would like to play. Winning is all that matters. I say that today, but I will not think about it next Wednesday.”
