Nainggolan Shoots Down Recent Chatter About Roma Return

Radja Nainggolan disproved the notion that he proposed his services to Roma in the last few days, as some reports instead indicated. The midfield, who’s looking for a new team after a decent stint at SPAL, spoke to Sport Paper TV (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“It’s false that I offered myself to Roma. The only true thing is that, during an Instagram live, is that I said that I would take only the appearance bonus to return. I’ve still a lot of ideas and goals and turned down offers from the Serie C. I have a lot to give after seeing the level of the second division so far.”

Nainggolan revisited his Roma exit.

“I’ve never had any problem in the locker room and didn’t set a bad example for the youngsters. On the contrary, I always wanted to help them. However, Monchi’s goal was to use only his players and ship off the ones signed by Walter Sabatini.”

Nainggolan reiterated that there’s no love lost between him and Juventus.

“I would have never gone there. I’ve been whistled so many times by their fans, but there was always just a healthy rivalry on my part. I rejected the opportunity to join a couple of times. I wanted to be a protagonist, while I would have been only one of many there.”
