Napoli Ace Raspadori Offers Support to Rudi Garcia After Verona Win

Giacomo Raspadori has backed Rudi Garcia to win the Scudetto with Napoli following a 3-1 demolition of an out-of-sorts Hellas Verona side. The reigning Serie A champions returned to winning ways after a dismal home loss to Fiorentina before October’s international break with a sterling performance at the Stadio Marco’Antonio Bentegodi.

Despite a troubling start to life in southern Italy, Raspadori believes Garcia is ‘the right man’ to inspire Partenopei to another domestic success.

Asked if the ex-Roma manager has the pedigree to lead Napoli to glory, the diminutive forward replied (via Tuttomercatoweb): “Absolutely, we’re doing everything we can to win games. We are at the pitch every day to prepare for the games, and this is our mentality.

Raspadori failed to find the net today. However, his assist for Matteo Politano helped Napoli take down Verona’s stubborn backline. That proved a turning point for Partenopei as they subsequently cruised past Marco Baroni’s underachievers to regain confidence following a stuttering start to their Serie A title defense.

Garcia has come under heavy scrutiny after Napoli went into the international break a whopping seven points adrift of early pacesetters Milan. Several media outlets in Italy have claimed club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already established contact with Antonio Conte over a potential takeover.

The under-pressure Frenchman desperately needed a victory at Verona, and his side delivered. Politano’s opener set the tone for a thumping win. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s brace served to seal the deal, offering Napoli some respite going into their Champions League encounter against Union Berlin.
