Azzurri ace Lorenzo Insigne’s contract renewal saga seems like a never-ending affair, with the most recent development adding to the mix.
The Napoli star’s contract with the club expires at the end of the current season and his soon-to-be free agent status has garnered the attention of many teams, including fellow Serie A giants Inter.
According to Sky Sports Italia, the EURO 2020 winner has a list of demands for president Aurelio De Laurentiis. He reportedly wants a guarantee of Napoli’s vision as a club going forward, aiming to be competitive, ambitious and motivated for trophies – something they are on the right track for.
The Partenopei are first both Serie A and the Europa League group rankings, well in contention for both major trophies this season.
He wants to commit his future to club he has known so well, having spent all his professional career in Naples, but only if the club will aim higher than it has in recent seasons.
