Napoli Alerted as Chelsea Join Manchester United in Race for Osimhen

Thanks to Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Napoli have been lethal to deal with by defenses across Italy and Europe. Among the two, it is the former for who offers have been pouring in left and right due to his goalscoring prowess, and Chelsea are the latest team to jump on the bandwagon.

As per Calciomercato, the English outfit, led by new owner Todd Boehly want to bring the Nigerian to Stamford Bridge with a lucrative offer. The American patron is reportedly ready to double the 24-year-old’s current salary, wherein he earns €4.5M net per season. Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis does not want to lose his most in-form center-forward, but any offer in the range of €120-130M will be evaluated by the Partenopei management.

The ex-Lille forward has led the Napoli frontline with great finesse this season, registering 21 goals and 4 assists in 25 appearances. In a recent interview with Corriere della Sera, Osimhen expressed the effect of the Premier League’s lure.

“I think it’s an ambition of all players. And who knows, one day. Right now, the I assure you, it doesn’t even cross my mind. It would distract me from a beautiful season. Only Naples. Punto.” (via Tuttomercatoweb)

The Neapolitans are in awe of their masked marksman and do not want to lose him either, as he continues to propel them towards a first Serie A title in 33 years. However, the lure of Premier League football, along with a bigger paycheck, may make the difference. Manchester United have also expressed interest in signing Osimhen.
