Napoli have set their sights on Adrien Tameze, who could be a cost-effective addition next summer. The 28-year-old has had a remarkable growth in 2021-2022. His price is around €8M, local newspaper L’Arena reports.
The midfielder moved to Atalanta on loan from Nice in January of 2020. La Dea did not buy him out in the summer, and the Scaligeri scooped him up for €3.5M. He has appeared in 66 Serie A matches, scoring 5 goals.
His brother and agent Pascal Tameze hinted at the interest from Napoli in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb: “Some big teams asked for him last summer and in January. A few sides are following him in every match. We will see at the end of the season whether his decision will be to stay in Serie A or transfer abroad.”
“It is his second year in Italy, and he is comfortable here. He likes the daily support by the fans and the great passion for football. All these elements have allowed him to express his talent to the fullest. He has improved in terms of maturity, physicality and tactical intelligence during his time in Verona. Igor Tudor further developed his stamina and lucidity. Looking at the stats, he is having the best season of his career. Like every player, he wishes is to play for a team that can compete for a trophy.”
Napoli could take advantage of their good relationship with Verona to land Tameze. They previously acquired Amir Rrahmani from the Gialloblù, initially leaving him in on loan.
