Napoli and Inter Misfits Set to Stay over Technicality

Jesper Lindstrom and Davy Klaassen haven’t played much in their first few months in Serie A, but they are bound to stay at Napoli and Inter respectively. They had already featured with Eintracht Frankfurt and Ajax before departing. It’s not permissible to star for three separate teams during the course of a season. They could only return to their previous ones, Tuttomercatoweb informs.

That doesn’t appear to be in the cards for either of them. The Azzurri reportedly kicked the tires about it with Die Adler. The Italian champions will announce the acquisitions of Hamed Traoré and Cyril Ngonge soon, increasing the competition.

Lindstrom has logged 300 minutes so far, while Klassen about 100 fewer through 10 appearances across all competitions. Things haven’t improved much for the Dane since the arrival of Walter Mazzarri.

While Inter signed the veteran on a free transfer from Ajax, Napoli spent €25M for the attacker, investing the sum they had reserved for Gabri Veiga. Matteo Politano has seen the lion’s share of minutes in the role. The newcomer has yet to have a noteworthy appearance.

Our Take on Klaassen and Lindstrom

The Nerazzurri added the Dutchman gratis just to be completely safe in case of multiple injuries, so it’s not a particularly big deal. The Partenopei needed another man in that role after ousting Hirving Lozano, but they might have missed the boat entirely as he doesn’t seem to have the pace to be a productive winger in Serie A.
