Napoli and Lazio Also Engaged in Potential Trade Talks

Napoli and Lazio have been trying to find the right formula for Michael Folorunsho to move to the Biancocelesti, and the solution could be a swap with Nicolò Casale. The defender hasn’t been great in the last couple of seasons and could leave, Il Messaggero informs (via Fantacalcio).

The capital club has been trying to obtain the Italian international on loan with an option to buy but the counterparty wants a permanent sale, at least down the line. He’s a club product and was coached by Marco Baroni at Hellas Verona last season.

Napoli don’t seem too excited by the prospect of adding Casale, but the talks regarding Folorunsho will continue and go down to the wire. The midfielder has been put on sale despite agreeing to a new contract earlier in the summer. The Azzurri have set up two acquisitions in the role: Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour.

The defender could depart anyway. He has landed on Bologna’s radar, which might sign multiple men to restock their backline, Alfredo Pedullà informs. The Felsinei are also pursuing Sparta Prague’s Martin Vitik, who’s very coveted. The Biancocelesti have earmarked Olympique Marseille’s Samuel Gigot just in case.

Our Take on Napoli, Lazio, Folorunsho, and Casale

The former’s transfer to the Italian capital makes too much sense not to happen, and it probably will eventually. The Partenopei don’t really need another defender, especially a middling one, but he would look better in a three-man line. Manuel Lazzari would suit what the Azzurri are looking for, but the Biancocelesti would have to be fine rolling with their other fullbacks.

  1. Casale needs to play. The guy was injured and had 2 coaches in one season and now a third. Give him a shot with new coach and see what he can do. But still try to sign the Napoli midfielder.
