Napoli and Newcastle Tussle to Sign Fenerbahce Talent Kadioglu

As Napoli prepare for a squad overhaul under new coach Rudi Garcia, new targets are emerging to take place of the existing Scudetto winners in the ranks. And Fenerbahce right-back Ferdi Kadioglu is reportedly a concrete target for the Partenopei management.

There is optimism for the arrival of Kadioglu in the south of Italy, according to an exclusive report from Sportitalia. Initial contacts have been established by Napoli to strike talks with the Turkish giants, and Kadioglu himself is keen on paving his future in Serie A.

The 23-year-old defender is contracted with Fenerbahce until 2026, having extended his deal just before the start of the previous season. The Turks are resigned to the fact that they would lose the defender, especially with the number of high-profile teams on his back, including Premier League outfits Fulham and Everton.

Newcastle United and Napoli are the teams to have submitted concrete offers so far for Kadioglu, per Sporx. However, their bids are marginally lower than the €25M demanded by Fenerbahce.

Garcia will own a new-look Napoli side ahead of the 2023/24 season, with Kim Min-jae, Hirving Lozano and Victor Osimhen all close to exiting the Serie A winners. The signing of Kadioglu could prove to be a welcome sign in defense, with Min-jae on the verge of joining Bayern Munich.
