Napoli and Sassuolo Set for Pivotal Talks for Raspadori

Giacomo Raspadori has chosen to join Napoli, but Sassuolo want to be compensated properly for his departure. The striker wasn’t spared in yesterday’s Coppa Italia game versus Modena. The two clubs will have a new round of talks today.

The Neroverdi CEO Giovanni Carnevali provided an update to Sky.

“I hope an agreement isn’t far. We would like to conclude the deal, one way or the other, before the stat of the season. The discussions with Napoli have been going on for a few days, and we’ll see what happens. We would be glad to keep him, but we are aware he wishes to move to a big club. He will do it at the right conditions, though. It certainly isn’t an easy negotiation. We intend to close it by the end of this week.”

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have offered €30M plus €5M add-ons, while Sassuolo ask for a €40M package. They demand about the same amount of money they received from West Ham for Gianluca Scamacca.

The Neroverdi have earmarked Andrea Pinamonti to replenish their attack. According to Tuttomercatoweb, they are on the verge of striking a deal with Inter. With Atalanta not concretely in the picture, the striker has signed off on transferring to Emilia.

Our Take on Raspadori, Napoli and Sassuolo

It’s a clash of titans when it comes to haggling, but the Azzurri have the will of the player on their side, plus his contact isn’t long-term, and the gap already isn’t that wide. It’s noteworthy that the counterparty is zeroing in on the Inter starlet, and not a pure left winger or a no.10, to replace him despite already signing Agustin Alvarez.
