Napoli manager Antonio Conte has delivered his verdict on Victor Osimhen’s uncertain future at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. During Saturday’s press conference at the team’s pre-season training camp in Dimaro, Conte admitted there’s an ‘agreement’ with the player regarding his potential summer departure.
Widely expected to leave Napoli in the coming weeks, Victor Osimhen bid farewell to the Naples faithful at the end of last season. However, the Serie A giants have yet to receive any formal bid for the Nigeria international despite vowing to let him leave in case of a substantial economic proposal.
Osimhen has joined the rest of the Napoli squad for the start of pre-season preparations. But while he’s at Conte’s disposal for the time being, the former Lille center-forward hopes to find a new home by the end of the summer. Speaking to the press, Conte hailed the 25-year-old’s professionalism and opened up on the club’s ‘agreement’ with the player.
“We are talking about Victor as a professional, an excellent, top player,” Conte said, as quoted by TMW. “I spoke to him, and he knows that absolutely nothing has changed. He belongs to Napoli.
“He knows that those who belong to Napoli have to work hard and have the right attitude, even if there is this sort of agreement, that we still don’t know how it will end.
“He’s here with a smile, and what counts at the moment is the training this afternoon and the attitude with me and my colleagues,” the Napoli boss concluded.
