Napoli Boss Spalletti Lauds Kim, Elmas and Azzurri Fans

Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti weighed in on several topics in a presser from Antalya, where the Partenopei are spending time preparing ahead of the League’s resumption (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“I’d like to work in Turkey one day, as Vincenzo Montella, Andrea Pirlo, and Francesco Farioli, whom I know very well, are doing. They are proving their worth. Super Lig has raised its level and attracted noteworthy gaffers. There’s great potential, and they seized the opportunity to join important clubs.”

The manager heaped praise on Kim Min-Jae.

“We needed to sign a big-time player after the departure of Kalidou Koulibaly. I realized his quality right after he joined. He’s a champion and plugged the hole very well.”

Spalletti stressed the importance of the fans.

“We draw strength from our city. Our current players can stay with us for many years thanks to the passion and love of our faithful, which permeate the footballers. Nobody ever wants to leave. The club has the power to keep anybody as long as we want.”

The coach also spoke highly of Elijf Elmas.

“He’s the apple of my eye, when he plays or not. He’s exceptional and can star in any position. In addition, he has great work ethic and constantly strives to improve. He can decide a game even if he features for just ten minutes.”

Spalletti doesn’t anticipate the break affecting their performances.

“Teams like ours have the opportunity to work more in detail in these moments. You can’t march at a fast pace all the time. We’re happy with the level of form we reached. It’ll be a great advantage and it’ll help us maintain our position. We operated well on the transfer market.”
