The revelations at Juventus have only shook Italy, but the whole of football in general. Despite the FIFA World Cup overshadowing the leaks emerging from Turin, it has still appeared to headline day in and out since the news first broke out. However, Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has paid no heed to the problems at the Bianconeri camp.

“I don’t talk about it. The judges will take care of it, it’s not my job. It is not only an Italian problem. Football is not always the bearer of the values that should be an example for the new generations,” he said during the presentation of the FIGC Sports Justice Code (via TuttoNapoli).

When quizzed if this is the beginning of a new Calciopoli, De Laurentiis distanced himself.

“I repeat, it is not for me to establish it.”

The longtime Napoli president also went on to point fingers at the Italian state for handing no support to clubs in terms of finances.

“The state is not stupid and knows it, but it ignores the state of football. It should make sure that the laws on the modernization of football are established in five minutes because it takes five minutes to change football, since it is sick everywhere. The government has always been absent.”

Finally, he hit back with the example of Netflix documentary ‘FIFA: Uncovered’, when asked if the European Super League can be a solution to avoid problems, such as at Juventus.

“You must do me a favor. Go to Netflix and watch the four episodes on FIFA: so, for your questions you will also have answers.”
