Napoli Earmark Bologna Marksman to Reinforce Attack Line

Napoli’s wish has always been to reinforce their ranks with talented youngsters. They have already secured the signing of Georgian wonderkid Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but will need more signings in order to fight for the Scudetto title next season. And a veteran striker has appeared on the radar of the Partenopei to give company to Victor Osimhen next season, or probably to replace him if he ends up leaving next season.

According to reports from Italian publication La Repubblica (via TuttoNapoli), Bologna forward Marko Arnautovic is the one in contention for move to the south of Italy. The former West Ham United striker has been an instrumental part of the Rossoblu in his debut season, scoring 15 goals in 34 games so far.

Napoli are currently struggling to get over their failed Scudetto fight that felt real until the very end, as they went through three successive winless matches against Fiorentina, Roma and Empoli.

Club legend Lorenzo Insigne is bound to leave for Toronto FC, whereas Dries Mertens is stuck in a contractual limbo with the management.

The former Inter striker sees his contract expire in the summer of 2024 and his €6m market value will serve as a bargain for Napoli if they do decide to move ahead with a deal.
