Napoli director Giovanni Manna touched on a few key topics for Napoli in an interview with Sky while attending an event inside the cruise ship MSC World Europa.
“Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has three years on his contract. Some teams pursued him, but we shared the desire to continue together. We’re working with his entourage to get to a renewal. We’re tranquil and don’t need to rush it.”
The Georgian ace has been tipped to extend his deal, but it doesn’t appear imminent just yet. Manna dished on the arrival of Romelu Lukaku.
“We know well what he accomplished at Inter. The intention of the coach was immediately clear, and he fit into the group right away. We’re trying to build something important now.”
The official praised Antonio Conte.
“He’s ambitious and has worked in great clubs. He represents a growth for us.”
Manna addressed Alex Meret, who’s coming off a great showing versus Cagliari and seems to have moved past some past criticism. On the other hand, his contract expires at the end of the season.
“We want to continue with him and vice versa. He’s an important goalie, and he’s never been questioned by us.”
The exec will quickly face his previous team, Juventus, in the next round. The Azzurri have collected one more point than the Old Lady so far.
“It’ll be a nice bout against a well-equipped team that had an important reinforcement campaign. They have all the means to do well in Serie A and the Champions League.”
