Napoli Shortlist Fiorentina and Hellas Verona Players

The Napoli higher-ups are on a mission in London to seal the deal for Billy Gilmour and Romelu Lukaku, but they also have two more Serie A targets on their shortlist, Verona’s Jackson Tchatchoua and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, Alfredo Pedullà relays.

The wingback had an excellent performance against them in the opener, and the Partenopei lodged a serious inquiry. The Scaligeri are generally willing to sell for the right offer. Everton and Rennes tracked him in previous weeks.

Napoli would have to spend €10/15M for Tchatchoua, while they offered a swap to Fiorentina to sign Sofyan Amrabat. The proposed Michael Folorunsho in return, who’s on his way out. La Viola turned down the proposal, although they like the Italian international.

The Gigliati would like to keep the Moroccan talisman he returned from a loan spell at Manchester United. He has bonded with new coach Raffaele Palladino. The Azzurri’s 26-year-old could still end up in Florence eventually, but his priority is to join Lazio. The Biancocelesti are also pursuing Southampton’s Carlos Alcaraz.

Our Take on Napoli, Tchatchoua, and Amrabat

The Verona man would be quite good in their scheme and is a rising talent. Their plans for the wings and the backline are still in flux after they decided not to sign Mario Hermoso. They didn’t have Alessandro Buongiorno in the opener, so the dismal display had a big excuse, but Juan Jesus and Mathias Olivera were surely poor, and Antonio Conte doesn’t seem to think Rafa Marin is fully ready yet. The arrival of a starting-caliber wingback would allow them to use Giovanni Di Lorenzo there, which isn’t an optimal solution but might be the best one available for now.
