With Kalidou Koulibaly’s future still up in the air, Napoli have begun shortlisting defensive reinforcements for the upcoming season, and Min-Jae Kim has caught the Partenopei attention. The South Korea international has received official approaches from Premier League suitors Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, but the Partenopei’s presence spices things up.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via TuttoNapoli), the Partenopei management identified Kim as Koulibaly’s successor back in the January winter transfer window itself and now have rekindled their interest. Fenerbahce are touted to receive a handsome transfer sum around the €20M mark for the center-back, whose contract in Turkey expires in the June 2025.
Foot Mercato also link Stade Rennais with a move for him to substitute for West Ham-bound Nayef Aguerd. The 25-year-old entered European football last summer with Fenerbahce, joining them in a €3M from Chinese club Beijing Guoan. However, it is understood that the Turkish giants will not hesitate to sell their best defender if an apt offer arrives, preferably seven times the amount they invested in bringing him.
On top of Min-Jae Kim, Napoli also have Brighton defender Leo Ostigard in thier sights. The Norwegian stopper is only 22, and is already making waves in the Premier League. He is the cheaper of the two options, but both players are understood not to have made a decision about their respective futures yet.
