Napoli Face Major Obstacles for Two La Liga Targets

Napoli have long started searching for a quality Victor Osimhen replacement, but they’ll have to spend big for two of their options, Artem Dovbyk and Samu Omorodion. The latter bloomed while on loan from Atletico Madrid to Alaves and is likely to stay put at the Colchoneros next season unless a team offers €40M, Sky informs.

The talent was playing in the fourth division up until a year ago. The Rojiblancos signed him from Granada for €6M. He scored one of his nine seasonal goals against them. He voiced his wish to play for Diego Simeone’s team talking to Radio Marca in March.

While Omorodion is likely to star for Atletico Madrid in the near future, Dovbyk could indeed be on the move, but Napoli and his other suitors will have to activate a €40M release clause to snap him up, Relevo’s Matteo Moretto reports.

He has hit the net 20 times in 2023/2024. Milan and Juventus have inquired as well, and so have a few Premier League sides. His departure would be particularly profitable since Girona paid about €8M to acquire him from Dnipro two years ago.

Our Take on Napoli, Omorodion, and Dovbyk

Money won’t be a problem for the Azzurri if the bids for Osimhen really get to the level they hope for, but they might not splurge excessively for a striker since they have many positions to address. The Ukrainian star would be a pretty safe choice, but they usually prefer younger targets.
