With the easy win over Salernitana, Napoli have collected 50 points in the first half of the season, which has them on pace to collect 100 points.

Napoli Flying High Mid-Season Enroute Third Scudetto

Napoli’s scintillating unbeaten domestic form was put to a halt by Inter at the start of the month, just as the Serie A season resumed following the FIFA World Cup break. However, the Partenopei have not manifested any signs of slowing down in the league despite being shockingly knocked out of the Coppa Italia Round of 16 on penalties by Cremonese.

As the league campaign approaches miday, Napoli are flying high across all fronts. In additional to being the best goalscoring team with 46 goals, they are also the team with the best defense – with only 14 goals conceded.

Luciano Spalletti’s outfit have mesmerized opposition more often than not, dominating teams with an attacking style of play. They lead among the twenty clubs for the most number of shots, 328, and also possess the highest number of assists for their 46 goals scored. Remarkably, 37 of their 46 goals have been assisted.

Napoli also record the highest ball possession rate, registering an average of 33 minutes and 39 seconds per game.

With 19 more games to go, the Partenopei are in line to win a first Scudetto title in 33 years – in what would be a first championship title since the days of Diego Maradona in 1990.
