Napoli Focusing on Two Names to Shore Up Their Defense

Napoli are currently prioritizing two options to substitute Kim Min-Jae, Max Kilman and Robin Le Normand. They have similarly hefty price tags. In the meantime, the South Korean defender has taken the first part of the medicals with Bayern Munich and will soon be announced as a new signing.

According to La Repubblica, Wolverhampton asked for €40M to part ways with the Englishman. The Azzurri have been in constant communication with his agent to lower the request. They hope to get an assist from the player, who would star in the Champions League for the first time if he joined. The counterparty hasn’t vetoed his departure but asks to be paid profusely.

Napoli appear keener on Kilman than Le Normand, but not by a wide margin. While Real Sociedad repelled their early advances, there’s a €40M release clause in his contract.

The Partenopei have been chasing after Giorgio Scalvini, but they consider Atalanta’s €50M price tag excessive.

Our Take on Napoli, Kilman, and Le Normand

They have zeroed in on a type and are right in not messing around with a prodigy. Kim and Kalidou Koulibaly brought a lot of experience and leadership to the table, properly quarterbacking the defense. They’d have to spend almost everything they cashed in for one of these two targets, though.
