Napoli Get Closer to Sassuolo Starlet and to PSG Goalie

Napoli and Sassuolo have reduced the gap in their valuations of Giacomo Raspadori, but further talks are necessary to strike a deal, while Keylor Navas has become the frontrunner over Kepa Arrizabalaga to be the next starting goalkeeper.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Partenopei raised their offer to €28M plus €5M add-ons yesterday. The Emilian side is now asking for a €30M fee and €5M bonuses, but there’s some disagreement on how to structure them. The parties are significantly less distant compared to the starting point of the negotiation. It would be a surprise if the deal didn’t go through at this point.

While Napoli insist for Raspadori, Keylor Navas is coming around on the move. His large wages represent the biggest obstacle, Sky informs. The Serie A side wants an assist from PSG in the shape of a substantial severance package. Instead, the complex talks with Chelsea for the Kepa haven’t progressed lately.

The arrival of the Costa Rican shot-stopper isn’t necessarily tied to Fabian Ruiz moving to France, but those deals are inevitably connected. The Ligue 1 side is lowballing the Azzurri on the price tag of the Spaniard. His contract runs out in 2023, and he doesn’t want to extend it.

Our Take on Napoli Trying to Sign Raspadori and Keylor Navas

As anticipated, it’s a duel between masterful hagglers, so a lengthy back-and-forth is inevitable. Sassuolo managed to keep Davide Frattesi when he seemed on the verge of joining Roma, but in reality the two teams weren’t this close in that case. Plus, they have less leverage on the player’s front. As for the goalie, signing the veteran would be a tremendous resolution of a matter that has been handled very poorly.
