Napoli and Insigne Far from Reaching New Deal Agreement

Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne’s current contract with the club runs out next summer and an agreement is yet to be reached for a new one.

According to Calciomercato.comrecent meetings have not been too fruitful. The best Napoli are willing to offer Insigne is his current salary of €5m. However, the 30-year-old wants to be paid more than €6m.

Negotiations between Insigne and the club will continue with the hope of reaching an agreement soon. The winger has been linked to Inter and Milan, who would be willing to sign him provided he leaves.

There is also a chance that MLS could try to snap him up with Toronto having shown interest in him recently.

Insigne has been a key player for Napoli and has cemented his status as a club legend. So far, the 30-year-old has amassed 114 goals and 91 assists in 413 appearances across all competitions for the Partenopei.

This season, the Italy international has featured in 16 matches so far, scoring five goals while providing six assists.

Given Insigne’s quality, Napoli will be hoping to reach an agreement regarding a new contract. However, provided that does not happen, the 30-year-old would become one of the most sought-after players in Europe as there would be many teams willing to sign him.
