Napoli Interested in Real Sociedad Star on Expiring Contract

Napoli will have to replace Lorenzo Insigne next summer and see Adnan Januzaj as a strong candidate for the job. The Partenopei do not plan to splurge, though. The Belgian attacker could be a bargain as he will be a free agent at the end of the season, Corriere dello Sport reports.

The 26-year-old has already played in multiple leagues. He could have the opportunity to add Serie A to the list. He is coming off a few solid seasons at Real Sociedad. The winger fully bounced back after failing to establish himself at Manchester United. He has tallied 22 goals and 21 assists in 151 appearances with Los Txuri-urdin.

The outcome of the pursuit will primarily hinge on how big of a salary Januzaj will ask Napoli. President Aurelio De Laurentiis is reluctant to hand out large contracts. The attacker also played at Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland before finding a permanent home in La Liga. He has hit the net eight times and set up six teammates in his most productive campaign to date.

On top of Januzaj, Napoli are eyeing Giacomo Raspadori too, but he is more difficult to sign. He has a hefty price tag, around €35M, and Sassuolo might decide keep him around. The Neroverdi are already likely to cash in on Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi. They might not want to part ways with too many cornerstones in the same summer. The Azzurri could sign multiple forwards next summer, as they are seriously considering moving on from Dries Mertens as well.
