Boulaye Dia didn’t let Napoli clinch the title last week with a screamer in the final minutes. The Salernitana forward has put together a great first season in Serie A. He will inevitably be in high demand in the summer. The Granata have to activate their €12M option to buy first, though.
His agent Frederic Guerra assessed his client Radio Kiss Kiss (via One Football).
“My father is from Afragola, near Naples. I would have preferred him to score two goals and the Azzurri won 3-2 and conquered the Scudetto. We are still in the dark about his future. The pivotal element is that his team has to avoid the drop to redeem him. They haven’t secured that just yet.”
“We have to wait, and then we’ll consider the permanent acquisition, our options, and all the other aspects. We can’t go into detail until they are certain to keep playing in the top flight. Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli likes Dia, but the same goes for a lot of other people, for instance in England and France. He’s different from a prototypical no.9.”
The 26-year-old has netted 12 goals and provided 6 assists in 29 matches so far this season. Salernitana exec Morgan De Sanctis hinted that they plan to redeem him and repel the offers (via Fantacalcio).
“It’s true that onboarding him and Paulo Sousa was a little challenging. We didn’t know how strong he was last summer. After we’ll have avoided relegation, we’ll get in touch with him and his agent. We have the strength to retain him, and we wish to keep ahold of him.”
