Napoli Lay Eyes on Salernitana and Verona Veterans

Napoli are in the market for a new fullback, and they have started to revisit two familiar names, Pasquale Mazzocchi and Marco Davide Faraoni. The latter almost joined them last summer, but Rudi Garcia decided to keep Alessandro Zanoli in the squad to deputize Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the youngster should soon be allowed to leave on loan following the coaching change. Salernitana are interested. A partial swap could be in the cards. The veteran would transfer permanently, while the youngster temporarily.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly already discussed the prospective Mazzocchi deal with his Granata counterparty Danilo Iervolino. The wingback has rounded into shape after the arrival of Filippo Inzaghi. He has assisted once in 14 appearances.

Zanoli is bound to leave the Azzurri since he has starred for less than 30 minutes so far. On top of Salernitana, Genoa and Sporting CP targeted him last summer. The Portuguese club offered €500k plus a €12.5M option to buy and has successfully swayed the player.

Our Take on Napoli, Mazzocchi, and Faraoni

They aren’t sexy names, although the former is fairly dynamic on his day, but given their versatility, they are the right options to track for the secondary role they’d have. They’d be fine when deployed and wouldn’t complain if they rode the pine. Zanoli was great with Sampdoria in the second half of last season and should definitively depart to play more.
