Napoli unveiled Antonio Conte in grand style, and he and president Aurelio De Laurentiis were asked about the ongoing transfer sagas. The chairman showed confidence the cases would blow over (via Sky).

“There are no issues with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia because he’s under contract. We’ll table our proposal. Then, maybe, there’s somebody, like the head of the ECA, who reaches out to players without being authorized.”
Conte sounded equally resolute in holding onto their players.
“Di Lorenzo is a top player, our captain, and important to the locker room. The same goes for Kvara. I knew about their situations and also about Stanislav Lobotka and Frank Anguissa. I put a veto on their departures. There’s no doubt on them. We need to get to work, and those who stay will be 100 percent part of the project. Alex Meret is our goalie, and I trust him fully. Elia Caprile has had an important path. They could defend our goal for years to come.”
Instead, Conte hinted Victor Osimhen would indeed leave.
“His instance is totally different from the others because there’s an agreement with the club that I inherited. He’s a great player, but I can’t intervene on previous stuff, which I accepted.”
