Napoli Player Ratings vs Juventus: Kvaratskhelia Miss Proves Costly

The 15th round of Serie A kicked off with a top clash between Juventus and Napoli at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. While both sides had their chances in the first half, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia spurned a glorious opportunity after finding himself one-on-one against Wojciech Szczesny. This miss ended up costing Napoli the match, as Federico Gatti emerged as the ultimate hero for the Bianconeri once again by nodding home the winner in the second half. So here are our player ratings for Napoli who succumbed to their third defeat in a row, this time at the hands of Juventus.

Napoli (4-3-3)

Alex Meret – 6

The former Udinese man hardly had anything to do besides picking up the ball from the back of the net after conceding a goal that he certainly couldn’t prevent.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo – 5.5

The Napoli captain has been on a skid in recent weeks and it showed against the Bianconeri. Struggled to cope with Federico Chiesa’s pace at times while his crosses were mostly miscued.

Amir Rrahmani – 5.5

Not for the first time this season, the former Verona man was beaten in the air on a goal that Napoli conceded. The Kosovan lost track of Gatti before failing to clear the ball.

Juan Jesus – 6

A decent display from the former Roma man who did fairly well in his duel against Dusan Vlahovic.

Natan – 6

The Brazilian continues to occupy an unfamiliar left-back spot but failed to deliver proper crosses to the box. However, Napoli should thank him for making a timely block on a Vlahovic shot that was surely goalbound.

André-Frank Zambo Anguissa – 5.5

The Cameroonian just isn’t offering the same intensity and genorisity as last season. He was second best to Adrien Rabiot for the majority of the match, while finding difficulties in tracking Chiesa.

Stanislav Lobotka – 6

The Slovakian couldn’t inspire any meaningful plays in the middle of the park for Napoli, but at least he did his best to support his teammates at the back.

Piotr Zielinski – 5

An anonymous display from the former Udinese man who offered very little on both phases. Struggled in his duel against Weston McKennie before leaving the pitch just at the hour mark.

Matteo Politano – 5.5

Except for an early shot that whistled past the post, the former Inter man couldn’t make any impact on the match. He was quite simply nullified by Danilo and Filip Kostic.

Victor Osimhen – 6

The former Lille bomber found himself engaged in an unpleasant duel against Bremer. Yet, he deserves credit for putting Kvara through on goal in what should have been the opener for Napoli. Also pounced on a Szczesny mistake to score a goal but was disallowed by an offside call.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – 5

A night to forget for the Georgian who winded up as the main culprit in his side’s defeat after missing a sitter. Sent his shot well over the bar despite only having the goalkeeper to beat. He also found little joy against Gatti and Andrea Cambiaso.

Substitutes

Eljif Elmas – 5.5

The North Macedonian replaced the disappointing Zielinski in the second. He may have added some energy to the mix, but did little to change the narrative for Napoli.

Alessandro Zanoli – 5.5

The former Sampdoria fullback hardly made himself noticed.

Giacomo Raspadori – 5.5

The Italy international should have done better on a counter-attack, but could only forge a feeble shot that failed to trouble Szczesny.

Giovanni Simeone – N/A

Jens Cajuste – N/A
