Napoli President De Laurentiis Stirs the Pot Ahead of Juventus Clash

President Aurelio De Laurentiis took advantage of the friendly between Napoli and Benevento to spice up the match versus Juventus. He also tooted his own horn a little and shared his vision for the Campania sides.

He talked to OttoPagine: “We have played in Europe for 12 straight years. I think we are the only team in Italy to have this record. It is not sufficient to be the best team to win the Scudetto, because at times somebody steals what belongs to you. You have to be a visionary. Otherwise, the spark that footballs need to change fades away.”

The owner referred to the infamous game between Inter and Juventus with three games to go in 2018. Miralem Pjanic was not sent off for a harsh tackle, and the Bianconeri came back late. Instead, Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli lost badly to Fiorentina the following day, and the Old Lady earned a decisive four-point lead.

De Laurentiis continued: “It is important to have a synergy between outfits, especially in Campania. This land is called Felix, happy, and we must create a football that mirrors that. We should all be a big family because we represent the most beautiful region on the planet.”

For the record, the Sanniti stunningly won 5-1 against the Azzurri. Witty remark asides, Napoli and Juventus are collaborating outside the pitch. The two clubs organized a private flight from Buenos Aires for David Ospina and Juan Cuadrado Friday morning, Radio Kiss Kiss reports. The goalkeeper is feeling better after a knock and should be good to go.
