Napoli will likely lose Victor Osimhen in the summer and, therefore, intend to keep ahold of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has recently been rumored to be in Barcelona’s crosshairs. He’s due for a new contract. The team and his entourage will tackle it before the summer, SportMediaset informs.
Despite some minor verbal incidents, there’s momentum for the renewal to come together relatively quickly. The Partenopei will probably bring in a new coach and part ways with several players. They don’t want to deal with further uncertainty.
Napoli and the Kvaratskhelia camp have resumed conversing in the last few days and are nearing a breakthrough. They could put pen-to-paper in May. The Georgian star currently makes €1.5M and will at least triple that amount. Following Osimhen’s departure, he’ll be the highest-paid player on the squad. The Partenopei already knew that the center-forward wouldn’t last long after agreeing to a €10M salary last summer.
The winger should have a release clause in his contract as well. The team plans for it to be sky-high, around €150M, to protect themselves from the suitors.
