Napoli, PSG and Atletico Madrid Join Heated Race for Rodrigo De Paul

Rodrigo De Paul seems poised to finally depart from Udinese after a successful five-year run and is set to be in high demand. While Inter have long been after him, vice-president Stefano Campoccia revealed that Napoli are pursuing him as well.

The executive spoke in an interview with Radio Marte: “Aurelio De Laurentiis directly asked for him, but he needs to realize that he is an expensive player. Personally, when I see him, I reconcile myself with football.” The Bianconeri aim at getting €35/40M for their ace.

After making an attempt in January, Inter have kept De Paul atop of the list of targets to bolster the midfield. However, it is uncertain how much they will be able to invest in the summer given the uncertain financial situation of the club. They will try to orchestrate a deal including two young players: striker Andrea Pinamonti and midfielder Lucien Agoumé, Tuttosport informed.

The Argentinian international is also drawing interest from abroad. Mundo Deportivo previously reported that Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on him but face competition from the Beneamata and Juventus. Tuttomercatoweb instead informed that PSG inquired in recent days and that the race to sign him is very fluid with no clear front runners yet.

De Paul joined Udinese from Valencia for €3M in 2016. He has notched 31 goals and 32 assists in 177 appearances since moving to Friuli. In an interview in December, he stated that he would not mind playing in Premier League after spending time La Liga and Serie A. He was linked to Leeds United last summer.
