Napoli Ramp Up Their Interest in Girona Star Dovbyk

Napoli have taken concrete steps toward signing Artem Dovbyk from Girona but will have to wait to learn whether they’ll be successful. They have tabled an offer, but the striker is focused on Euro 2024 and prefers biding time, AS reports (via OneFootball).

The Partenopei have tendered €35M, which comes close to his side’s request to let him go. The marksman would rather move to a team that plays in the cups. He could have the opportunity to do so later in the summer. He might also simply decide to stay put, as the Blanquivermelis qualified for the Champions League.

Despite the reported bid for Dovbyk, the main Napoli target to replace Victor Osimhen is still Romelu Lukaku, Il Mattino reports (via Tuttomercatoweb). At this stage, Chelsea repelled their proposal to have him out on loan and contribute to his wages. There should be further development after the Premier League’s PSR deadline on June 30^th.

In addition, the Azzurri are keeping tabs on Terem Moffi as a fallback relative to their two top targets. He recorded 11 goals and 2 assists in 32 matches with Nice last season. Le Gym acquired him for €22.5M for Lorient in July 2023. His valuation is slightly higher now.
