Napoli Sandwiched Between Monza and Verona in Domino Deals

Andrea Petagna leaving Napoli for Monza is all but confirmed at this point, as Sky reports. The outcast has been granted a long overdue move from the South of Italy. Such transfer is touted to trigger the Partenopei’s efforts towards luring another striker in Giovanni Simeone from Hellas Verona.

The Serie A newcomers have arguably been the most active top-flight team in the transfer market. Petagna will be the Brianza club’s 12th summer arrival. His loan deal will amount to €2.5M with a obligation to buy set at €10M next summer. It will involve an additional bonus fee of €1.5M, for a potential final amount of €14M.  Monza luring Petagna will in turn help Napoli in the market, as they have already identified his replacement.

The Partenopei are now set to accelerate efforts to seal the deal for Simeone. The River Plate youth product will also arrive on a loan deal set at €3.5M, with the obligation to buy for €12M, as per Sky. Hellas Verona have already excluded the forward from their season plans. He has not appeared in their recent pre-season friendlies and wasn’t part of the squad list for the Coppa Italia debacle against Bari. Only the final details are left to be concluded by both parties.

Napoli will take on the Scaligeri at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi on the opening matchday. There are decent chances El Cholito will appear in the sky blue of Napoli against the hosts on August 15th.
